Voornaam, I am so grateful and honored to have been re-elected as Chair of the Democratic Party of Oregon for another two years. Thank you to all of those who have entrusted me with this responsibility â it is humbling, and I am ready to do everything in my power to keep leading our amazing Democratic team to big wins up and down the ballot. I'm proud that Oregon Democrats have continued to put a premium on the health and well-being of our volunteers and supporters. In compliance with public health guidance, our elections were held virtually to ensure safety from the spread of COVID-19. I'd like to thank our outgoing Vice Chair (and recently elected Democratic National Committeemember) Michelle Risher for facilitating a well-run election, and the incredible Democratic Party of Oregon staff for their hard work and support of this process. Iâd also like to congratulate our team of DPO Officers: Vice Chairs Dr. Rosa Colquitt and Pete Lee, Secretary Eileen Kiely, Treasurer Eddy Morales, and our Democratic National Committeemembers Travis Nelson, Matt Keating, and Michelle Risher. Oregon Democrats have critical work ahead of us. That work starts with helping Oregonians recover and build back better as we emerge from the pandemic. The American Rescue Plan has already put checks into Oregonians' pockets, put vaccine shots into arms, and sent critical resources to schools to help them reopen safely. Because YOU and our friends across the country elected Democrats in November, Oregon will be receiving more than $4 billion in relief funding, with more than 270 Oregon communities receiving direct aid. And we're ready to get President Biden's American Jobs Plan â a once-in-a-generation investment in the American people â passed into law. These major progressive bills are only possible because we've been so successful at electing Democrats at every level â from local school boards, to the State Legislature, to statewide offices, to the U.S. House and Senate, all the way up to sending Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to the White House. Heading into the 2021 local elections and the 2022 midterms, with you by our side, we're ready to keep electing Democrats. Together, we can re-elect Senator Ron Wyden, elect a Democrat in our upcoming Governorâs race, re-elect our great Democratic Congressional delegation and elect a Democrat to a potential new sixth Oregon Congressional District, re-elect Labor Commissioner Val Hoyle, build our Democratic majorities in the Oregon Legislature, and win important local races across Oregon. Iâm proud to be part of a team that reflects not just the diversity of our Party, but the diversity of America. The Democratic Party is committed to making peopleâs lives better. Whether you are an urban grocery worker or work the land in beautiful rural Oregon, Democrats are fighting for YOUR health care, YOUR kidsâ education, and to make sure YOUR income provides you and your family a good life. Our Oregon Democratic Leadership team is driven by those ideals and more, and weâll be working hard for you over the next two years and beyond. I'm so thankful to have you with us in this fight. Onward! KC Hanson
