Today marks 110 days since October 7 and the people of Israel and Gaza continue to live in a suspended state of agony, burying their dead (Monday marked the deadliest day for its forces since the war began, with 24 soldiers killed) and wondering when a cease-fire deal that includes a hostage-prisoner exchange might come.

Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib, who lost 30 of his own relatives in Gaza, lays out his vision for its future without Hamas's suicidal adventures and Israeli destruction. Mkhaimar Abusada, who has met Yahya Sinwar, examines what the Hamas leader's possible endgame might be.

Adar Primor argues everyone must ask themselves if they would send their children to fight this war. Eric H. Yoffie offers guidance on speaking to young Jews about Israel. Nic Maclellan brings us word from the remote Pacific islands about pro-Palestinian protests there, and R. David Harden and Adam Clements argue that U.S. attacks on the Houthis could backfire.
