Hi Achternaam,

So, I usually work in the garden in the mornings, after breakfast kitchen clean up. Then around 11:30, I come in to get lunch. I was alone for lunch recently and thought I'd grab my laptop and answer some e-mails while I ate. I promptly went right to the refrigerator and opened the door to get my laptop!

If you are wondering why I would do that...it means you are young. Just wait...someday you'll get it! LOL. Oh, the joy of getting old...er, mature. :)

In case you missed this last week, I just finished creating this Simply Canning Quick Start Guide. I've been told that SimplyCanning.com is helpful, it's encouraging, it's just what you need...but oh my. There is so...much...information. This is meant to guide the complete beginner through the most important information on Simply Canning, guiding you to the correct pages and recipes you need.

What's on the agenda for today?

Preserving Cherries - Cherry season will be here before you know it, if it isn't already in your area! This page is where you can find all of my articles about cherries (canning, freezing, dehydrating, and more).

Learn about Preserving Cherries here.

Beekeeping for Beginners - Beekeeping for Beginners certainly applies to me! I’ve often thought about how much I love honey and wondered what it would be like to have a beehive and produce it myself. I've never followed through and gotten a hive and bees though. It seems totally intimidating. I feel like I don't even know what questions to ask. And then I was offered a review copy of this book authored by an online friend named Amber Bradshaw.

Antique Canning Jars - Are these jars safe for home canning today?

Home Canning, To Boil or Not to Boil - Recently on Facebook, one of my readers asked if boiling canned food was required before eating it. This is about after processing when you go to eat the food, not the canning process itself. :) See what's recommended here.
