I’m Back!A Big Thanks to Dr. Tara Narula Cangello and the Terrific Northwell Healthcare ProfessionalsWith my annual physical checkup my physician recognized an irregularity in my EKG so he sent me to Dr. Tara Narula Cangello, a leading cardiologist in the Northwell Health care system. Initial tests suggested to Dr. Cangello that I may have coronary artery disease (CAD). That was a surprise to me because despite regular exercising I had not experienced any noticeable issues. But after a series of tests aimed at ruling out CAD, there was significant evidence of considerable blockage on the left anterior descending artery. Dr. Cangello recommended that I may need to have a stent implanted into the artery in question to avoid future prospects of heart attack. So, on August 3, I checked into Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City where I was received by an amazing professional and patient friendly group of professionals lead by Dr. Singh who successfully planted a stent via catheterization by way of my right wrist. Dr. Singh along with the entire team at Lennox Hill were amazing! The entire experience helped restore my confidence in our medical system after it had been severely damaged by politically motivated COVID protocol. Dr. Singh told me that me that about 1/3 of all people who suffer heart attacks never have any warnings before their first. And unless first responders are on hand when it happens, Those first attacks are usually fatal. While the entire Lennox Hill staff were amazing, it was Dr. Cangello who steadfastly followed medical science to hone in on my problem. While I didn’t want to think I had a problem, her gentle but firm assertion that the data were telling the truth gave me no choice but to go through with the procedure. Dr. Sing gold me that doctors refer to my condition as the “widow maker.” He said that my condition was programing my ticket to leave this earth. I thank God for Dr. Cangello, Dr. Singh and a multitude of health care professionals at Lenox Hill who intervened on my behalf, most likely enabling me many more trips around the sun than I otherwise would have had. I indeed have much to be thankful for. So, this 76-year-old man is looking forward for continuing to write for the foreseeable future here on Substack. At this point in time, I am planning to move my data base to Substack and by the first of 2024 begin making my newsletter available on this platform.
