You loved our 2020 Out Loud programs.
Help us expand them in 2021.

Litquake Out Loud aims to support the Bay Area’s BIPOC and LGBTQ+ authors and thought leaders, working with them to maximize the reach of their work. Help ensure that Litquake can begin planning a second year of Out Loud on the first day of 2021. Give today.

We promised to make real change in our organization and programs. And we promised to be transparent while doing it. Why? Because we see this as our path to force change in the Bay and the industry at large. Care to dig deeper?

Here’s our 2021 progress report:

  • 59% of authors featured were BIPOC
  • 71% of ‘headliner’ authors were BIPOC
  • 51% of all collaborations were with BIPOC-led organizations
  • 67% of attendees were BIPOC
  • 21% of attendees were LGBTQ+

I had a great experience working as part of Litquake's Out Loud program. As a curator, it gave me the support and resources to pay some of my favorite local writers to share new work and allowed me to focus on creating a great show. This was especially important for me and my team because it gave us the space we needed to figure out how to take our in-person Root Slam shows online. I hope even more local communities get access to this great platform!
