Where there’s turmoil…Pakistan.Over the weekend, former Prime Minister Imran Khanwas sentenced to three years in prison for corruption allegations. The court found him guilty of not declaring money from selling state gifts (although the verdict has been disputed). If upheld, this latest sentence could jeopardize his lead as an opposition figure. A law in Pakistan bars anyone with a criminal conviction from participating in politics for five years.Now,Khan is calling for nationwide protests. Oh and… Yesterday, a train derailment killed 30 and more than 60 were injured. The train, which was going from Karachi to Havelian, left dozens trapped. Authorities said an investigation was underway.
Who lost control…Kai Cenat. Over the weekend, the Twitch streamer apologized after his PlayStation 5 giveaway at Union Square Park incited a riot. Thousands of his 6.5 million fans showed up in hopes of getting free consoles and other tech. Some of the attendees obstructed traffic and others jumped on cars. Police arrested 65 people, including Cenat, and charged him with inciting a riot and unlawful assembly without a permit. The streamer said he was “deeply disheartened by the outbreak.”
