For the past 40-minutes or so...

I've been staring at a blank screen trying to figure out what to write today.

Which is super frustrating because...

...I've worked hard over the past 20-years to build rock solid habits that make sure "writer's block" isn't a thing for me.

But all that work aside...

...It's just been one of those days.

Which made it even funnier when just a few minutes ago...

...I got an email from my buddy Ian Stanley with the subject line:

"I don't wanna write right now".

Where he used his current lack of motivation as an angle to sell one of his copywriting programs

(Which I thought was pretty clever).

And it made me think of an important lesson...

With all of the social media "highlight reels" and overnight success stories bouncing around the internet...

...It's easy to think that your audience and the clients you serve only want to hear about the "good".

That they only want to see case studies of your 6-figure product launch...

Or hear about how you #crushed your workout this morning...

Or read about that crazy promotion you ran last week that tripled your revenue...

...And sure they DO want to hear about those things.

The "good" is what what attracts them to your brand in the first place.

But they also need to hear about the bad and the ugly...

...Because that's what makes you relatable and keeps them in your world for the long term.

It's what humanizes you and what really motivates them.

Because they realize... "If THEY struggle with this and still found success... so can I".

It's one of the reasons I'm always talking about my struggles with anxiety...

And the challenges I'm having in my business today...

Because people don't want to follow yet another "guru" pretending to have a perfect and stress free life.

They want to learn from someone like them...

Someone who's not only overcome the challenges they are facing today...

...But who's still overcoming new challenges and learning from new struggles everyday.

So my challenge to you today is simple...

The next time you go to publish a post or send an email or record a video...

...Get real and give your audience a look at the WHOLE picture.

Not just your wins and successes... but your failures and challenges too.

Share what you're learning from the chaos and uncertainty of the year...

Share the problems you're facing and how you're trying to solve them...

Share about those negative emotions (you pretend you don't have) and what you're doing to manage your them...

... Because even though your audience is looking for answers, solutions, and strategies to their problems.

Sometimes...

They just need to know that they're not alone.

And that even the people they turn to for guidance face struggles and challenges each day.

...Including writer's block ;)

To Your Success,
Craig
