While I test dozens of products a month as a beauty editor, August was all about switching up my usual routine. In fact, the best makeup product I tried was a skin tint.
This is big for me since I'm usually a foundation girl; the coverage makes me feel secure on even my worst skin days, while skin tints usually do too little for my taste. But, I finally found one that's sheer yet makes a noticeable difference: the Summer Fridays Sheer Skin Tint. It's barely pigmented but still neutralizes my redness and blemishes. Most importantly, it looks natural—like what I wish my skin actually looked like.
Another complexion product that's impressed me is Westman Atelier's new Vital Skincare Concealer. It’s the rare concealer that looks seamless on your skin after applying and blending. I keep the tiny bottle in my purse on days I don’t feel like doing full glam.
And for a blush that doesn't feel like blush, I recommend Haus Labs by Lady Gaga's Color Fuse Blush Powder. The matte powder formula doesn't feel like powder, nor flattens my complexion. |
