When Mackenzie, a physiotherapist, started dating her best friend’s ex, Oliver, she quickly learned that everyone had their own version of events. After hearing one story from her friend, Mackenzie learned from Oliver that her pal had omitted a major detail. “I felt annoyed and confused,” says Mackenzie. “Did she still have feelings for him after all these years?”

This past Tuesday, the city’s most fashionable arts patrons came out to support the National Ballet of Canada’s annual fundraising gala. A spirited soundtrack in concert

Japanese composer and conductor Joe Hisaishi wrote the luxurious scores that back Hayao Miyazaki’s famous Studio Ghibli films, including PonyoPrincess Mononoke and The Boy and the Heron. After three sold-out shows with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra in 2022, Hisaishi returns to the city to conduct his suite from Spirited Away, Miyazaki’s beloved 2001 film. Roy Thomson Hall, June 20 to 22
