It’s a little too ironic, don’t you think?: Pal Kovacs was listening to the long-awaited new album from rock and metal giants Bring Me the Horizon when he noticed a strange sound at the end of the record’s last track. That led to a hidden hacking-themed website that at some point actually got hacked. Read more

Anthropic snags former OpenAI bigwig: Jan Leike, a leading AI researcher who earlier this month resigned from OpenAI before publicly criticizing the company’s approach to AI safety, joined OpenAI rival Anthropic to lead a new “superalignment” team. Read more

Bridgepoint acquires a big stake in LumApps: LumApps, the French startup that describes itself as an “intranet super app,” said private equity firm Bridgepoint is taking a majority stake in the company in what it is describing as a $650 million deal and strategic investment. Read more
