i'm dreaming of a tiny butterfly garden. 🦋 A year ago, I moved out of my house in the suburbs to a tiny apartment downtown. I downsized in a major way by donating, selling, and giving away 70% of my belongings.
It. Was. Liberating. There was only one big thing I missed having - a big flower bed to plant fresh flowers in each spring.
I do, however, have a lovely balcony that I gussied up last April with railing planters full of lively-colored flowers, as well as a couple of beautiful potted plants.
This certainly fed my love for gardening while also adding a sliver of nature to this new concrete jungle of mine.
This spring, I really, really (like REALLY) want to plant flowers that attract butterflies—like my own little urban butterfly garden.
I've wanted a butterfly garden for years, but never took on the task. I think it's time to make this dream finally happen. Or, at least attempt to. 😂
Even though I'll be working in a much smaller space than a traditional yard flower bed, I believe in the power of creativity to see it through.
I mean, just how magical would it be to have a butterfly garden right outside my windows? Or while sipping tea on the balcony? I'm so excited to get started.
How to Create a Butterfly Garden: A Guide Fortunately, I have a handy how-to guide already built on my blog here that you and I can use to make it just right for our designated spaces.
I'll keep you posted on the status of my project, so stay tuned! |
