Chili's parent company, Brinker International, announced over the weekend that customers' payment information may have been exposed in a malware attack. The New Gmail Will Remind You | Android Authority | Google announced that the new Gmail will now “nudge” users if they forget to reply to an email. The AI-powered notification tool is on by default for users with the new Gmail enabled. Google says that this new reminder feature will help prevent emails from slipping through the cracks. But nudging goes even further than that. Google will also search through your Sent folder and find messages that someone else didn’t reply to, and remind you that you should follow up with them. | Critical PGP And S/MIME Bugs Can Reveal Encrypted Emails—Uninstall Now | Ars Technica | The Internet’s two most widely used methods for encrypting email—PGP and S/MIME—are vulnerable to hacks that can reveal the plaintext of encrypted messages, a researcher warned. He went on to say there are no reliable fixes and to advise anyone who uses either encryption standard for sensitive communications to remove them immediately from email clients. | California Teen Phished His Teachers to Change Grades | Engadget | A student at Ygnacio Valley High School in California created a fake website that looked identical to the school's and then sent emails to teachers in an attempt to get them to sign into his fake site. At least one did, which allowed him to collect their login and password info. He then reportedly used that information to get into the Mount Diablo Unified School District IT network where he then changed other students' grades -- he even lowered some. "It was like stealing candy from a baby," he said. He was arrested on 14 felony counts. |
