Hey, Creator. We interrupt your regularly scheduled newsletter and podcast for something unique and important. That sounded way more serious than it should have. Bottom line: I’ve got big news and something coming back from the dead. This week, we are re-opening the vault of ten years of courses I’ve taught on writing, marketing, and creative work, making our Legacy Bundle available for sale again. When I put these courses in the vault, I wasn’t sure when I might bring them out again. The goal was to focus on building a book-production agency, and that’s just what my colleagues and I have been doing. We’re doing good work, partnering with incredible clients like Navy SEALs, award-winning biologists, and personal development legends to bring you equally incredible books. I’m proud of what we’re ushering into the world, and you’ll see more of it in the next year as these projects get published. Since then, we’ve gotten a number of new readers and listeners, some of whom would greatly benefit from these courses I’ve created over the years. So that’s reason #1. The second is more personal. In the spirit of transparency, I am trying to buy a home; and because I’m self-employed, I need a lot more cash to make it happen than most people. I won’t bore you with the details, but it’s ironically easier for someone I employ to get a mortgage than it is for me. The fact that I employ other people and provide for multiple households, including my own, makes me a “risk” to a bank. It makes me a less stable option than someone with a traditional job. Therefore, they need to see a lot more money in my account than one would normally need. Anyway, I don’t like asking for handouts, at least not since I quit my job as a missionary and started writing for a living. One of the downsides of being an online entrepreneur, however, is that the banks don’t understand what you do. They see our work as a liability. I binged a bunch of comedy specials over the weekend and was moved by Dave Chappelle’s plea to his audience one night during a standup routine. He shared how Comedy Central had profited off his work when he did not and said to a crowd, “I’m going to my real boss… you.” He asked his fans to stop watching his show until he got paid—and that's exactly what happened. Artists, authors, and entrepreneurs—what we sometimes call the Creator Economy—don’t have a boss. We have lots of bosses; we have our audience. You are my boss. You are the person (and people) who decide if I get to keep doing this, and for how long. My job is not to entertain, but to give more than I ask for. To help and share and make all this worthwhile for you. If I don’t do that, then I don’t get to keep my job (and I want to keep my job). This is true of us all. The rule of the audience says that if you serve those who are paying attention to you, they’ll keep paying attention. And some will pay you. That’s how it works. And for my part, thus far, it’s been a blast. You’ve seen me through starting new businesses, publishing books and courses, turning some of those into international bestsellers. You’ve seen me through the births of two children, a divorce, an existential crisis or two, and a retirement of sorts. It’s been a ride. Now, I am inviting you into the next season: one of rebuilding. We are bringing our old courses out of the vault for the next few days and doing a flash sale—starting today. What this means is, effectively, you get ten years’ worth of work for the cost of a nice date. This is thousands of dollars’ in material on how to succeed as a writer and artist today for a fraction of the value. Click here to see what's in the bundle. And, yeah. Every dollar you invest in this bundle will go towards the new home I am trying to buy for my family. That’s just an added bonus that makes us all feel good. But to make things even more enticing: For anyone who buys the bundle this time, or bought it last time, I'm going to host a live Ask Me Anything this month. Join me for a chance to get real-time coaching about your big book idea, making a living as a writer, starting a new life, or whatever else comes to mind. This will be an exclusive event, and you should come expecting surprises. :) To wrap up: I don’t want to send you a bunch of salesy emails to move this bundle like a widget. So I'm not going to. Instead, I am going to share over the next week some stories and thoughts about starting over—how hard it's been and what I've learned. If it’s not for you, no worries. We’ll be back to our regularly scheduled program in a week. But you might consider getting the bundle or even gifting it to a friend. I'd love your help in sharing it with a colleague who has a dream. Like we all do. Thank you for believing in me and everything I’ve built over the years. We called this collection the Legacy Bundle, because it was a decade of work my team and I got to build, our small dent in the universe. But really, this is about the legacy we get to create—the future we all can build now. Check out the Legacy Bundle here to see what you get. Now is the time when we can make investments in the world we want to create for ourselves and others. That’s what I’m trying to do, and I hope you do the same, whatever that looks like for you. Best, Jeff P.S. The sale starts today. It ends at midnight Pacific, Tuesday, May 10, 2022. Click here to learn more and get the bundle now. If I’ve ever done anything that has been helpful or interesting to you, or if you’ve ever been curious about diving deeper into my work, I would appreciate the support. Thank you.
