Itâs a sad day when the federal government tries to force faith-basedâ¦
Dear Babylon Bee Subscriber, It's a sad day when the federal government tries to force faith-based ministries to surrender their beliefs or stop serving vulnerable children. But that day has come. The Biden administration has revived an Obama-era rule requiring faith-based ministries to violate their biblical beliefs to participate in a reimbursement program for adoption and foster-care providers. This is simply another way for the government to stamp out beliefs it doesn't like. The rule forces ministries to place children in homes that don't align with the ministry's faith. And for organizations like Holston United Methodist Home for Children, which has been serving homeless children since 1895, this is simply untenable. But friends of freedom like you are standing with Holston Home! Last week, we asked you and others to sign our petition to stop the government from targeting faith-based adoption and foster-care agencies. And we've been floored by the response. The momentum is building to protect these ministries. Now, I'm asking you to take the next step and stand behind Holston Home's legal defense.
| GIVE NOW | Our team at Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) has filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration in federal court challenging the rule. Ministries like Holston Home are forces for good, living out the words of Christ to care for children and "the least of these." It's vital that Holston Home, as a religious organization, remains free to continue placing at-risk children in loving, Christian families, according to its deeply held beliefs. And it shouldn't have to fear government penalties to do so. I assure you, we are committed to seeing the case through to the U.S. Supreme Court, if necessary. Politicizing foster care and adoption makes it harder for children to find stable, permanent homes. That's inevitable when the government tries to force faith-based providers to check their beliefs at the door. But we won't accept that. Will you? Please take a moment today to consider the damage done by actions like this by the federal government. And then, take the next step by making a gift to defend Holston Home. | DONATE | Blessings and thanks, Michael Farris P.S. If you haven't signed our petition yet, there's still time!
