Former Allstate employee awarded $18M in wrongful-termination case
A jury in San Diego has ordered Allstate Insurance to pay a former employee more than $18 million after it fired him because of an arrest. Charges against Michael Tilkey, who had worked for Allstate for 30 years and had been arrested after an argument with his then-girlfriend, eventually were dropped.
