Will you stand up for your neighbors?

Free Press

Friend,

In communities across our nation, millions of immigrants are living quietly and in harmony with native-born residents. We’re neighbors, coworkers and friends, and we’re caring for each other across racial, ethnic and partisan lines.

Yet we rarely see those stories on the nightly news or on the front page; those stories never go viral on social-media platforms. That’s because these kinds of stories don’t help the politically powerful in our country, and they don’t enrich the profits of corporate media empires.

Instead we see stories that repeatedly exploit and demonize immigrants.

Last week, we partnered with the Latino Media Collaborative to discuss this acceleration of racist lies on social and mainstream media. Organizations like ours are doing all we can to fight back.

We’re sorry you couldn’t be there, but the good news is that you can catch up on what you missed!

We see the lie that noncitizen immigrants are voting in droves. We see fabricated stories about Haitian immigrants eating people’s pets. So what can we do about all of this? Be sure to watch our recorded webinar to find out.

We hope to see you at future events.

Jessica and the rest of us at Free Press

P.S. We’re doing all we can to stand up to hate, but we can’t do it alone. Can we count on your donation today?
