Hey, hey!

So, last week we moved into our new house, and it was all kinds of chaos. The movers unloaded a truck full of stuff, we spent two nights in the new place, then headed for California—which is my kind of moving. ;)

During our five-day stay in Los Angeles, I recorded an interview for the Minimalists (which will be dropping soon, so keep a lookout for that), we rented a car to drive through the mountains of Malibu, and then I treated my lady to a surprise concert of her favorite boy band. We ate good food, slept in, and saw a few friends and beautiful sites.

I returned to a smattering of responsibilities and obligations and somehow had this strange peace about the whole thing. I love our new house and this life we get to create. This morning, I woke up to the sound of birds singing and sprinklers sprinkling before dawn. As I watched sun rays reflect off dew drops while sipping a hot coffee on my back patio, I was struck by how perfect a moment can be.

I wish you the same peace and presence this weekend and coming week. And in case you missed it, here are a few other things that happened lately:

• A new podcast on how money isn’t real dropped this week and got a good response, especially to the newsletter that accompanied it.
• I shared some thoughts on Instagram on how we can create just about anything if we want it badly enough. This is a challenging concept for me, but I’m learning a lot as I practice it.
• If you missed last week’s episode on how being an “idiot” is the best way to do creative work, don’t forget that trickster makes the world.
• My most recently published book, Real Artists Don’t Starve, is only $12 on Amazon right now and still seems to resonate with creators of all kinds.
• I did an interview recently on content creation and what kind of work feels most meaningful to me these days. Check it out (and see me rocking a sweet ponytail while you’re at it) on YouTube.
