The Australian Government has announced MRFF investments of $8M for clinical trials and $150M for stem cell therapies. An additional $3M has been committed to a medicinal cannabis trial.

WEHI researchers are testing the effectiveness of Denosumab in a clinical trial to decrease the risk of breast cancer for women who carry a BRCA1 gene mutation.

Genetic testing for all women with breast cancer is more cost-effective than testing based on family history or clinical criteria, according to University of Melbourne, Monash and UK researchers.
