NFT’s are the talk of the town – and they are here thanks to Anil Dash and Kevin McCoy, our Webby Lifetime Achievement Award Winners! Last night, the digital pioneers accepted their award from Laurie Segall, the founder of Dot Dot Dot Media. Their 5-Word Speeches? “Finally, finally everybody caught on,” - (Kevin McCoy) and Webby dorks might recognize “Everything you think is true” (Anil Dash), an homage to Prince’s 2006 speech.
Critically-acclaimed contemporary artist Takashi Murakami received a Webby Special Achievement Award (presented by Creative Director and Producer, Set Free Richardson) for his lifelong career of creating experimental art, and for bringing his talents to the new frontier of NFT art. Fan favorite Drew Barrymore, received a Webby Special Achievement Award last night for her incredible success entertaining online audiences everywhere. Barrymore was presented with her award by Patrick Starrr, a Barrymore-fan and popular beauty guru on social media. Barrymore then shared her 5-Word Speech: “Social media is a wild ride.”
Receiving immense praise for his incredible work in the AppleTV+ series, Severance, Adam Scott was named Webby Best Actor last night. Presented to him by friend and Severance director Ben Stiller, the duo took the Webby Stage last night, and Scott delivered a few words to our elected officials: “Supreme Court eat my shorts.”

Iconic chef Gordon Ramsay accepted the Webby Award and Webby People’s Voice Award in Food & Drink Social and Video Series & Channels, for his beloved Ramsay in 10 cooking tutorial series. Will Larkin, Javier Gomez, Abbie Garretson, Jack Petcoz and fellow organizers of the Say Gay movement were awarded a Special Achievement Award by Tig Notaro and Tan France last night. They received recognition for using #SayGay to protect transgender youth against discriminatory bills and legislation and for using the Internet to draw attention to the urgent need to address policies that endanger the lives of young trans and LGBTQ people everywhere.
