Aloha! Although we're back from Hawaii, the memories, photos and videos of our trip make us feel like we're still there. Scroll down for Part One and Part Two of our trip reports.

Buy Airplane Tickets Now
I've been preaching this for weeks, if not months, that if you plan to travel this spring or summer, you better buy your tickets ASAP. As you can read in one of today's 12 Things To Know in Travel news stories, it was confirmed yesterday that prices are indeed going up. At an investor conference in New York, officials from American, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest and United, all shared that there's been a huge uptick in demand in the last few days. And to cover rising fuel costs, they're going to need to collect an extra $30 or $40 per the average $400 round-trip ticket.

Numbers Are Up and Masks Are Coming Off
If you read my daily travel tip newsletter yesterday, then you know there's a ton of travel news this week and it's a mixed bag. Numbers continue to inch up at TSA security checkpoints but they're also up in terms of Covid cases, which is disturbing. The U.K. just had a 70% spike and the U.S. usually follows suit. But many doctors think it won't be huge deal like the last outbreak (fingers crossed). Regardless, you might find it surprising that the U.K., Heathrow Airport, British Airways and Virgin Atlantic have all eased mask requirements

The Cheapest Day of the Week to Fill Up Your Gas Tank Is ... Here Are 9 Ways to Save Money on Gas

You don’t have to turn on the news to see that gas prices have skyrocketed around the country. Here in California, the average price for a gallon of Regular is $5.80. If you’re trying to save money (aren't we all?), here are my tips along with ones from the EPA. Read the story.

Hawaii Trip Reports 🌈
I'm rolling out four Hawaii trip reports so get ready 😁: On Sunday, I posted Part One (our United LAX-HNL flight ✈). Here's Part Two, which is of our four-night stay at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. On Sunday, I will publish the story about our next hotel stay and next Wednesday, look for the story about our flight back on Hawaiian Airlines.

The Best Times to Capture Photographs While on Vacation
Professional photographers know that the best time to capture photographs is the golden or magic hour. But thanks to a tip in my local newspaper, I leaned that there's a time outside those hours that are just as magical. Read the story.

Today's Travel Tip
If An Airline Puts You Up At a Hotel, Don't Expect This
If your flight gets canceled or you miss a connection, and your airline is kind enough to put you up at hotel (they don’t legally have to), just know that you won’t get your elite perks as you normally would if the airline books it. Read the story

Plane Too Hot? Use This

Yesterday, I wrote about something I always keep in my travel bag in case the airplane is too cold (you can read that story here). This prompted a comment from a reader about being on a plane that was overheated, which reminded me of another pocket-sized gadget I also have in my carry-on bag. Check it out here.

INIU Portable Charger
We've written about the importance of traveling with a portable charger before (it's the gadget that flight attendants say they never leave home without!) But there are a few reasons why this particular charger is one you might want to always have in your bag when you're on the go. Check it out here.
