This week, we kicked off a new series called “How To Talk To Just About Anyone,” which runs through the month of April. We've all been there: Somehow, you've found yourself in a conversation with a person with whom you have nothing in common, someone who intimidates you or someone who won't stop complaining… the situations are endless. These interactions were uncomfortable before the pandemic. Now, they almost seem unbearable.
As restrictions are beginning to lift across the country, it’s high time for a little social refresher. We’re kicking it off with this story on how to talk to someone you have seemingly nothing in common with.

It’s totally normal to feel inadequate or nervous in this scenario. But it’s also possible to combat those feelings and hold your own.
FYI In the past year, my screen time has gone up… a lot. I’m not alone in that; between working on screens all day, keeping up with friends on virtual happy hours, or remote appointments, our phones have become our constant companions. It doesn’t feel great, to be honest. I have a few friends who deleted social media during this time and it’s done wonders for their mental health. Senior reporter Brittany Wong spoke to others who did the same.
