Try these "Apple Pie French Toast Sticks with Caramel Sauce."
These principles are too important to miss!
1. Baking is a science. Reliable recipes are based on chemical reactions and balance. Other recipes may work but trust the food scientists.

2. The product is no better than the ingredients.  

3. Precision is paramount. Make sure your measures are right.

4. Your oven is not precise.  It cycles.  Use an oven thermometer so you always knows how hot it is.  

5. Baking times should be precise--especially with pastries and cookies.  Use a timer that measures seconds.

6. Baking continues in a hot pan.  Get it out of the pan and onto a rack.  Parchment paper helps.
