To develop a successful, large-scale, public-private partnership you need to find the right topic – a transformative idea where public organisations and industry can work together – and the right collaborators. This takes time, which is why at IHI we publish our draft call topics as soon as they are sent to our governance groups for consultation. The consultation may result in changes to the topic texts, but the drafts published now will give you a very good idea of the plans for the calls and allow you to start preparing a proposal.
Finding the right collaborators and capabilities for a strong proposal and project can be hard – Europe is large and diverse. Our brokerage event for Call 9, held on 12-13 November in Brussels, will give you an opportunity to pitch ideas and present the capabilities of your organisation for effective networking. We have about 400 seats, but places are filling up fast so do make sure you register in time. There are also a lot of useful materials on our website – this month’s newsletter provides a good overview.
If you’re wondering what kinds of projects we support, the stories this month are good inspiration – for example, one new project could transform the way we do safety toxicology with large reductions in animal experimentation. Our spotlight on mental health is inspiring; with an increasing number of people suffering from mental health issues, our projects are timely, and the outcomes show progress and hope.
