J-pouch surgery

Why is it done?

Ileoanal anastomosis (J-pouch) surgery removes parts of the large intestine. It's often done to treat bowel conditions that tend to progress to cancer.

These masses of cells that form on your stomach lining usually don't cause signs or symptoms.
