PHOTO: Four people were injured after a fire broke out inside Austin's Saloon and Eatery in Libertyville during Easter brunch, fire officials said. The Libertyville Fire Department responded around 1 p.m. Sunday to Austin's Saloon and Eatery, 481 Peterson Road in Libertyville, for a report of a structure fire. Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the occupied restaurant, according to Libertyville Deputy Fire Chief Steven Holtz. Holtz said the fire was reported to be in the bar area and the restaurant was in the process of being evacuated. The Impact Fuel Room, which is located in the same building, was also evacuated. Approximately 100 people were evacuated in total. The Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) was activated to the box alarm level for additional fire department assistance.

PHOTOS: McHenry County Sheriff's deputies, and firefighters and paramedics from Nunda Rural Fire Protection District, McHenry Township Fire Protection District, and Crystal Lake Fire Department responded about 3:20 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2024, 2022 to a report of a house fire in the block of 3700 Riverside Drive in unincorporated Crystal Lake. Nunda Rural Fire Engine 1341's crew on arrival reported smoke showing from a two-story single-family home with hoarder conditions outside. At the rear of the home, large flames were showing from a corner bedroom window in the northwest corner of the home. No fire hydrants exist in the neighborhood, so fire command immediately established a tender (water tanker) operation with a portable water tank set up at the intersection of Riverside Drive and Tulip Street, just northwest of the fire scene.

PHOTOS: A building partially collapsed in downtown Rantoul on Sunday, ahead of its scheduled demolition in just a couple weeks. The City of Rantoul bought the defunct Hallmark Gold Crown building just five months ago with the express purpose of tearing it down. City officials opted to delay demolition until after April 15, as an accounting firm neighbors the East Sangamon Avenue building and they wanted to allow full access until Tax Day. However, time had its own plans for the old building. First responders were called around 4:40 p.m. on Sunday when part of the structure crumbled unexpectedly. City officials said thankfully, no one was hurt in the collapse. They now plan to move forward a little ahead of schedule on their plans to raze the building.

PHOTOS: A massive fire ripped through an apartment building in Lomita on Saturday, causing the second floor to collapse as huge flames damaged the entire structure. Firefighters were dispatched to battle the fire, located at the Vista Verde Condominium complex in the 2000 bock of Palos Verdes Drive, at around 6:40 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. In all, they say there are around 150 firefighters engaged with the blaze. After burning for nearly an hour, the roof of the building appeared to have collapsed in on itself due to the raging fire. LACoFD Public Information Officer Craig Little said that the second floor collapsed onto the first, creating additional complications to their ongoing firefight. Crews could be seen battling the large flames that were shooting forth from the roof of the building with SkyCal overhead.

PHOTOS: A man has been hit with several charges, including DUI, after crashing into a Chesterfield fire truck that was responding to another emergency on Interstate 95 Saturday night. Four people were injured in the crash, including two firefighters. According to Chesterfield Fire & EMS, just before 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, a county ladder truck was positioned to block traffic on I-95 South near the Willis Road exit due to an accident. Virginia State Police (VSP) said the right lane and right shoulder were closed at the time and the truck had its lights on. An approaching 2019 GMC pickup, driven by 25-year-old Juan Sara Cruz, changed lanes and struck the driver's side of the fire truck, according to VSP. Fire officials said Cruz was also driving at a high rate of speed.

VIDEO: A man has been taken into custody after a massive fire that destroyed a house in Hamilton Township on Friday afternoon. According to the Hamilton Township fire chief, crews were dispatched to a fire and a man with a gun in the 800 block of Sunrise Ridge Court around 2 p.m. The man proceeded to have a standoff with police for around an hour before firefighters could begin to knock down the flames. Once police took the man into custody, fire officials worked to contain the blaze, though the fire chief said the house is a complete loss. The fire chief also said that a woman was inside the house, but left when the fire started. There were no injuries in the fire. Houses on both sides of the house on fire sustained damage as well. At this time, police have not identified the man taken into custody.
