Several crews were on the scene of a chicken coop fire Friday morning in rural Mapleton, according to Logan-Trivoli Fire Chief David Tuttle. Tuttle said crews were called to the area of West Riekena Road at approximately 8:26 Friday morning. As the department responded, they found a chicken coop totally involved in the fire, along with a large machine shed next to it. The fire was also next to a large propane tank, but crews were able to keep it contained to the coop and the machine. The coop and the shed were consumed by the fire, Tuttle said. As the coop was wooden, it was completely destroyed. The shed was a metal building and remains standings, but all the contents inside were destroyed. Tuttle said the chickens were able to be rescued and one turkey died in the fire.

An investigation is ongoing after an explosion at a refinery owned and operated by Hound Resources in White Lake Township. The incident occurred around 10:30 PM Friday in the area of Young Road and Bogie Lake Road. FOX 2 viewer video footage captured the intensity of the explosion, with one witness, Ben Farmer, describing the impact on his home. "I was just sitting down, and it just rattled the whole house. It was pretty crazy." Firefighters from various departments across the region responded to help battle the fire. "We were sitting in the basement playing Madden, and I kinda heard a rumble. Then we started getting texts from our friends. It was just intriguing, so we came out here to check it out and saw plumes of smoke coming up as we were driving down M-59," said Jacob Lewis.

VIDEO: Soon, Fire Station 5 in Eagle Ridge is going to be under construction, and thanks to new AI technology "Darkhorse," the public won't notice a difference. "Station 5 with our concrete, that company is going to be relocated temporarily. We can model exactly what the outcome of that move will be," said Spokane Fire Chief Brian Schaeffer. That outcome is calculated by data from the fire department that goes back years. Darkhorse AI allows the fire department to see those potential outcomes, before making any final decisions. "We're able to advance the knowledge that we learn on a daily basis into future decisions on deployment," Schaeffer said. When you look at a map of the city, the fire station downtown is green, which means most incidents they respond to are well-staffed, and performance is high.
KXLY-TV ABC 4 SPOKANE
For more than a decade, Sam Buser watched the lights of fire trucks bounce off the city streets of Houston, heard the roars of burning blazes and stood before the caskets of too many firefighters. He never held a hose or kicked in a door, but, as senior psychologist for the Houston Fire Department, he spent many sleepless nights at fire stations. His job was to convince those who run toward the fire that it's okay to help themselves. But for much of his career, he was something of a rarity in Texas. Even as resources have been poured into law enforcement agencies for decades to solve well-publicized mental health issues, the same can't be said for fire departments. The reasons are simple: There isn't enough money to go around at many cities or volunteer jurisdictions, and many fire departments have not been ready to drop their stigma around mental health.
TEXAS TRIBUNE
PHOTOS: At 4am, gunshots rang through the dark night, as local townsfolk awoke to a most terrifying sight. A large fire had erupted at the top of Main Street, and the American Hotel was engulfed in uncontrollable flames. Park City's Sheriff, Thomas Walden, had sounded the alarm with three successive shots, and the whistle at the Marsac Mill quickly notified the nearby mining campsite and homesteaders. The date was Sunday, June 19, 1898, and with strong winds blowing from the east, the fire quickly spread from building to building and house to house. Since its population surge a decade earlier, Park City had been bustling with men, women, children, and families. The silver, lead, and zinc discovered in the nearby mountains had driven hundreds of prospectors, miners, and camp followers to the small Utah settlement.
