| Roads reopen after fire at McClugage Bridge in Peoria stops traffic VIDEO: East Peoria Fire Chief Bobby Zimmerman shared more information on the fire near the McClugage Bridge during a press conference Tuesday. Zimmerman said fire crews initially responded to the fire at approximately 4:20 p.m. Upon arrival, crews saw that a crane on a barge south of the bridge in the Illinois River was on fire. The barge and the crane were not occupied at the time of the fire. The Peoria and East Peoria Fire Departments worked together to extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported. Zimmerman said that the crane is considered a total loss. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. CENTRAL ILLINOIS PROUD Chicago Fire Department responds to extra-alarm fire in Chinatown grocery store VIDEO: Chicago firefighters responded to an extra-alarm fire at a grocery store in the Chinatown neighborhood Wednesday morning. The fire broke out at about 3:30 a.m. in the Park To Shop grocery store in the 2100-block of South Archer Avenue. Chopper 7 flew above the scene as smoke billowed from the building. The Chicago Fire Department said there are no reports of any firefighters suffering from heat fatigue. No injuries have been reported. CFD said they have had trouble putting out the fire due to the building's concrete roof. CFD also said ventilation has been an issue, with multiple mobile ventilation teams responding. | VIDEO: Massive fire destroys old factory in Michigan, four firefighters injured PHOTOS: Several firefighters were injured Tuesday afternoon when a fire destroyed a large vacant factory near the Jackson County Fairgrounds. Fire crews responded at about noon Aug. 22, to the commercial building near the intersection of W. North and Hamilton streets, north of the Armory Arts complex, in the city of Jackson. Heavy flames were coming from the building upon their arrival, City of Jackson Spokesman Aaron Dimick said. Given the size and location of the fire, an all-call alarm was sent out countywide for additional assistance, resulting in crews from every fire station in Jackson County arriving a the scene, as well as one crew from the Chelsea Area Fire Authority in Washtenaw County, Dimick said. Viewing the damage from the street, the roof of the building caved in and a large portion of a brick wall collapsed and crumbled onto North Street. Now Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is better prepared for the unexpected. Atlanta cut the ribbon on the nation's first on-site airport triage center. It'a essentially an entire health clinic, right in the heart of the airport. "In addition to providing low-acuity medical support, the center can do high-level diagnosis using point-of-care blood testing, ultrasounds and cardiac monitoring," Fire Chief Rod Smith said. Airport officials say they transport around 2,000 people to emergency rooms each year. The center could help reduce that number while still providing adequate medical care.
