| For the past year and a half my grandson, Jacob, my son, Ben, and I have been working on a one-hour documentary film titled Immunotherapy: The Battle Within. This will finally have its premiere on YouTube on August 26th at 4 pm EDT. I would like to invite you to join us for the launch of this very important event. The Battle Within refers to both the battle of the immune system against cancer and the battle within the medical profession over the best method of fighting cancer. There are powerful financial forces at work in the immunotherapy field, which I explained in my recent book, Cancer, Incorporated. For that reason, we are proud that this is an entirely independent documentary. Ben, Jacob, and I had absolute control over the final product. In that way, we were able to tell the story of the immune treatment without fear or favor. Jacob is the director and cinematographer: he traveled the world interviewing some of the leading clinics who are using the immune approach to this disease. My son, Ben, handled every aspect of the business end and was the producer. I am both the writer and narrator of the film. We are very honored to feature my interview with James P. Allison, PhD the 2018 Nobel laureate, in this film. One high point is how masterfully Jacob uses the story of William B. Coley, MD (1862-1936) to illuminate more modern approaches to the same problem. I think that this film could be a real eye-opener for people who are struggling with cancer, to get them to see that cancer treatment is no longer restricted to the old slash-burn-and-poison approaches.
