We are writing to share the news that NIAAA has just launched The Healthcare Professionals Core Resource on Alcohol, also known as the Core Resource. This new online resource will help a wide range of healthcare professionals improve care for patients whose alcohol issues may be affecting their health.

Please note that NIAAAs Healthcare Professionals Core Resource on Alcohol offers free CME/CE credit.

The Core Resource was built with busy clinicians in mind. It centers around
14 user-friendly, practical overviews designed to overcome known barriers to better care for patients with alcohol problems. Topics include:

• Foundational knowledge for understanding alcohol-related problems
  (4 articles)
• Clinical impacts of alcohol (4 articles)
• Strategies for prevention and treatment of alcohol problems (5 articles)
• How to put it all together to promote practice change (1 article)

In addition to the articles described above, the Core Resource offers links providing information and support.

Our goal is for the Core Resource to become a one-stop resource to help healthcare professionals provide evidence-based alcohol care.
