Dear friend and supporter, A few days ago, the government issued an advisory due to the ongoing rocket attacks from Hezbollah and the growing threat from Iran. They recommended that everyone be prepared with enough food and water to last 72 hours in a bomb shelter in case of a state of emergency. Unfortunately, most people are not sufficiently stocked up and have been reaching out to us for help. That’s where we at Feed Israel have stepped in to ensure people are prepared for the worst. Our dedicated volunteers have just completed another round of distributing emergency supplies. We’ve prepared and delivered thousands of emergency kits to the homes of the elderly, Holocaust survivors, and needy families throughout Israel. Each kit contains the essential items recommended by the Home Front Command, including dry and canned foods, water, hygiene products, batteries, a flashlight, and an emergency radio. This distribution is being coordinated with welfare authorities to ensure those in need are reached. The recent efforts were focused on four cities in central Israel: Tel Aviv, Bat Yam, Or Yehuda, and Holon. Our volunteers successfully delivered emergency kits to 5,780 families, including many elderly individuals and Holocaust survivors. Raphael, a Feed Israel volunteer in Or Yehuda, shared his experience: "This week, I delivered supplies to dozens of homes. I saw families struggling without basic necessities. Although I'm used to seeing these difficult situations, this time felt different. The combination of financial hardship and the fear of war has taken a toll on these families. I visited Eliyahu, a 93-year-old Holocaust survivor living alone. He got up from his chair, hugged me, and said, 'I was worried I wouldn’t have anything to eat in the bomb shelter.'" The need is growing rapidly, and we are receiving more and more requests from families in distress asking for emergency supplies. Next week, our goal is to distribute 7,000 additional packages in four cities in the North. We urgently need your support to help us reach as many families as possible. Please consider making a donation to Feed Israel today to ensure that no one is left without the essentials they need during this critical time. |
