An "I love you" message: By Jeff Foster
I LOVE YOU
Hello. We haven’t met, but I love you.
Wait. Don’t get freaked out. I only mean, I recognise myself in you.
Underneath the words, the stories, the noise and the silence, I know that I am what you are. Consciousness itself. Recognising itself as the other so the other is not ‘other’ at all.
I am you, in the deepest sense. I know you intimately as myself. This is love. We are not two becoming One, friend, for One never split apart. We are not trying to connect, only knowing ourselves as that which cannot disconnect.
I don’t know anything about you, friend. But it doesn't matter.
Our story is secondary to this love. Our histories and imagined futures pale in comparison to that which burns here.
We are ancient friends, lovers from aeons ago. These bodies have changed, the drama of incarnation has played itself out, but love has survived it all. Ancient, yet ever fresh. Present. Alive.
And even if we never meet again, I love you. Beyond the goodbyes and the hellos of this fragile world. I cannot help but love you. It is my nature.
Hello. We haven’t met yet. I love you.
