Impuls Deutsch uses a flipped classroom concept, and focuses on intercultural competence, interdisciplinary topics from the STEM fields and the Humanities, and activities that encourage meaningful interactions among students and with other German speakers around the world.
Based on the newest research, Impuls Deutsch develops students’ intercultural and communicative competence, collaboration and problem solving skills, time management, and global awareness through project-oriented interdisciplinary instruction.
The integration of the STEM fields and the Humanities is central in building students’ awareness of the relationship between language and other subjects and reflects authentic language in society.
The three-pronged flipped classroom approach:
Lernen: Preparatory activities and detailed explanations in English and German prepare students for in-class assignments
Machen: A German-only approach in the coursebook fosters in-class immersion and meaningful communication from Day 1
Zeigen: Students demonstrate learning through in the follow-up workbook
Scheduled Release: Summer 2019 in print and LMS formats.
