Good morning,

Welcome back to The Scotsman daily newsletter. How is your week going?

More restrictions?
Today we expect Nicola Sturgeon to set out the details on the next steps the Scottish Government will take in the fight against Covid-19.

The good news (if you can call it that) is Ms Sturgeon has already said the new measures will not amount to Scotland going into another lockdown as was the case in March.

The First Minister has warned infections are beginning to spread from younger sections of the population to older age groups.

The average number of daily cases rose from 285 two weeks ago – when the ban on indoor household visiting was introduced – to 729 yesterday.

As ever, our live news team will be covering all the latest developments through the day via our live blog.

If you have any suggestions as to how we make our live blog better our live editor would love to hear them - joe.cawthorn@jpimedia.co.uk

Grand Tour heads to Scottish isles

Love him or hate him, Jeremy Clarkson is in Scotland.

Grand Tour stars Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are currently filming for their Amazon Prime series at locations around the Hebrides. The former Top Gear stars and their camera crew – together with a Buick, a Lincoln and a Cadillac – boarded the CalMac ferry at Uig on Skye on Sunday morning and sailed to Lochmaddy on North Uist.

We'll say this, they've picked a spectacular part of the world to film in.

Your chance to own a castle

Next up, something a little different from our property section. We've found this stunning £1.2 million country house in Fife with its own CASTLE..albeit one desperately in need of some TLC.

Think we can do better? Tell us?

We're always looking at ways we can improve. If you have suggestions, criticisms or feedback on what you think we need to do better let our editor know. Email joy.yates@jpimedia.co.uk
