☀️ Tuesday brings another windy but milder-than-normal day for January. Highs will reach the 40s across much of the south, and temperatures will crack the thawing point in most of northern Minnesota.

In a tighter Minnesota Legislature, coalitions pushing middle path could play big role

The Minnesota Legislature is still stuck in neutral as Democrats and Republicans remain at odds over House control. Once things get back to normal at the Capitol, a new coalition could play a big role in shaping where the session heads next.

🗳️ Election Day: Polls are open in northeastern Minneapolis for the Minnesota Senate District 60. Learn more about the candidate running in this race. ❤️ Contestants from upcoming ‘Love is Blind’ Minneapolis season are revealed.  The Minneapolis season includes 32 singles — the largest group to date — and their ages range from 26 to 43. Netflix reports that Sagittarius women and Taurus men are the most common this season.

🎭 Guthrie Theater union negotiations are complicated by labor, DEI issues. According to the union newsletter, the Guthrie is unwilling to make the negotiation meetings open to the front-facing staff members who will be affected.

💉 Insulin capped at $35 per month for Minnesotans, after settlement with manufacturers. Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison announced a settlement Monday with manufacturer Novo Nordisk. All the company’s insulin products will be capped for both insured and uninsured customers with prescriptions.

📜 New Trump orders on transgender troops, COVID and more expected on Hegseth’s first day. President Donald Trump said Monday he will sign a flurry of executive orders focused on the military, including to reinstate troops booted for refusing COVID-19 vaccines and remove “transgender ideology” from the force, just as Defense Secretary and Minnesotan Pete Hegseth began his first day on the job.
🎧 ‘Need to start over’: GOP, DFL leaders talk next steps to settle House control. DFL Rep. Jamie Long and Republican House Leader Lisa Demuth joined MPR News guest host Emily Bright to parse whether the court’s ruling will deepen the partisan standoff or be enough to end a Democratic boycott.
