OUR LADY OF MERCY STATUE

Devotion to Our Blessed Mother under the title of Our Lady of Mercy dates back well into the Middle Ages, when the Mercedarian Order invoked her under this title. The Mercedarian Order was founded in 1218 in Spain by St. Peter Nolasco to redeem Christian captives from their Muslim captors. In this statue, Mary is dressed in white garments similar to the Mercedarian habit with a scapular in her right hand and a pair of shackles in her left hand. The red shield on her breast is the shield of the Order of Mercy. This ceramic statue measures 8½”H including the base.

These statues come from Colombia, S.A. and are meticulously hand-painted by a group of widows that have lost their husbands due to the violence occurring in Colombia.

ST. PIO OF PIETRELCINA RED BEAD ROSARY

This unique and beautiful rosary from Ghirelli® is comprised of 6mm red glass beads with hand-shaped antique silver plated Our Father beads each with a tiny hand-enameled red stigmata. The centerpiece features an image of Saint Pio on the front with an image of the Mosaic of Our Lady of Graces, one of Padre Pio’s favorites, on the back. The Crucifix is a replica of the cross in front of which Padre Pio received the stigmata and features the five wounds also hand-enameled in red. This rosary measures 22" when laid flat.
