This is a magnificent statue of St. Raphael the Archangel, one of only three angels that Sacred Scripture has revealed by their proper name. Raphael, from the Hebrew (rapha - to heal) and (el - God) means "God heals" or the "Divine Healer". The story of the Archangel Raphael is quite beautiful and can be found in the Old Testament book of Tobit. This statue is made of a resin-mix and is painted with beautiful attention to detail. St. Raphael is depicted as strong and majestic, kneeling on one knee holding a spear with the symbol for medicine on the top and water gourds. Measures 8½”W x 8¾”H x 3½”D.
