In 1846, the bishops of the United States adopted a decree by which they chose the Blessed Virgin Mary, conceived without sin, as Patroness of the United States. For more than 150 years, Catholics in America have placed their lives, hopes, dreams and concerns under the special patronage of the Mother of God. This unique rosary from Ghirelli, has a special crucifix with red and blue enamel stars and stripes on the front and "ONE NATION UNDER GOD" on the back. On the center is and image of Our Lady on a map of the US with Psalm 33:12 on the back. Each Hail Mary bead has each state's individual abbreviation on it.

This striking statue of St. Joan of Arc is made of resin with a pewter style finish and golden highlights to enhance the dynamics. It measures 10 1/2"L x 12 1/4"H x 4"D. Saint Joan was born in 1412 in Domremy, France. At a young age Joan began hearing the voices of St. Michael, St. Catherine and St. Margaret. When she was 16 these holy companions told her to go to the King of France and help him reconquer his kingdom. At the age of 17, Joan was given a small army with which she raised the siege of Orleans on May 8, 1429; St. Joan suffered much in her short life of 19 years (see item #2682). Her feast day is May 30th.
