LAS VEGAS: Eataly Las Vegas is bringing a gelato pop-up to Park MGM with the debut of Gelato alla Grande. Available now, Il Gelato at Eataly will feature an exclusive menu for Las Vegas showcasing its house-made sweets with signature twists, including affogatos that pair gelatos and sorbettos in a glass with espressos and liqueurs, as well as Italian-style gelato sundaes. The pop-up is located at the Las Vegas Boulevard entrance of the Eataly Las Vegas Store at Park MGM. NEW YORK: The Joy of Sake, the world’s largest sake tasting outside Japan, returns to New York City on June 16 at the Metropolitan Pavilion. This year, expect a record 576 competition-level sakes available to taste alongside sake-inspired appetizers from 16 different restaurants. This event celebrates the ancient art of sake-brewing with a walkaround tasting where attendees are able to taste the full spectrum of sake styles in the premium daiginjo, ginjo, and junmai categories from every sake-brewing region in Japan, including more than 300 sakes not otherwise available in the U.S. Tickets are $130 and are available on The Joy of Sake's website. The Times Center hosted a launch event on April 24 for BizBash chairman and founder David Adler's new book, Harnessing Serendipity: Collaboration Artists, Conveners and Connectors. Adler launched and led the book project with co-authors James Cornehlsen and Andrew Frothingham. The book celebrates the importance of collaboration in driving success across various industries and features interviews with 66 professionals—from diplomacy experts to event planners—who share their experiences and insights on collaboration. ORLANDO: Brightline—a provider of modern, eco-friendly, intercity rail—unveiled its highly anticipated Brightline Orlando Station at Orlando International Airport (MCO). The new system aims to connect millions of riders between central and south Florida. Service will begin this summer and will include 16 daily round trips with hourly departures between Miami and Orlando. Brightline’s nonstop trains have a run time between Miami and Orlando of two hours and 59 minutes. Regular service from Orlando to Miami will stop at all Brightline stations including West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, and Aventura with a run time of three hours and 30 minutes. SARASOTA, FLA.: The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota has recently expanded its executive sales team with the appointment of two new senior sales managers. Diann Flanders will oversee catering sales, while Jennifer Hanna will manage group sales. Flanders most recently served as regional sales manager for Prime Vacations, where she worked among eight luxury boutique hotels in southwest Florida. Hanna joins from Marriott IndyPlace, where she served as market director of catering sales for several years.
