Start off with talking the Louisiana economy with UL economist Gary Wagner, who says the nation's inflation rate is the worst in 40 years and is expected to get worse before it gets better. The year-over-year inflation rate on goods was at 8.8% in December after averaging at 0.6% between 1990 and 2019. You'll also want to get the latest in Vice President Kamala Harris' scheduled visit to Sunset on Friday to announce public investment in rural broadband upgrades, an issue that has hampered many rural areas of Acadiana.
