☀️ 48 – 88° in Logan ☀️ 67 – 93° in Salt Lake City 🌤️ 77 – 102° in St. George | 💧 10% chance While writing this newsletter, I came across this story from KSL about a Salt Lake City man who stole an excavator from a construction site, drove it about a mile and dug up the sidewalk outside of a Smith’s Food and Drug. It’s one of those stories that really leaves you scratching your head. It reminds me of a time when I was in high school and I was on vacation with my family in a small town — we’ll call it Tinyton. I took a look at their local newspaper. The town paper was published weekly and mostly covered events like a farmer getting a new cow, or — in what was a major town scandal — someone stealing a ceramic goose off someone’s front porch. You can’t blame me when I tell you I was incredulous when one day the front page story read — I kid you not — “Dead body found in Tinyton cemetery.” I rolled my eyes and probably mumbled something like, “You don’t say, Sherlock,” and then tossed the newspaper. A day later I realized my mistake when local stations started reporting on a crime that had taken place there. 😳 Tell me: What’s the most bizarre headline you’ve ever read? Also on our minds: Credit card companies are cutting ties with porn companies, “zipper merging” is the way of the future and is the Supreme Court getting religious liberty right? |
