Dear participants,

First and foremost, we hope that by the time you receive this message you and your loved ones are well.

In most countries, lockdown measures are progressively being lifted and economic activity is restarting. During this exceptional and unprecedented time, we regularly took the pulse with exhibitors and buyers of Maison&Objet, either through direct contact with our teams or through online surveys. Our objective was to measure the impact of the crisis on the sector and of course its evolution. Given the valuable information that we have analyzed, we inform you now of our decision not to hold the September edition of Maison&Objet Paris fair.

In fact, the uncertainty on the travel conditions, particularly international ones, as well as the lack of clarity regarding the ability to hold large gatherings in early September has played a major part in influencing our decision to call off the September edition of the Maison&Objet Paris trade fair.

This decision, as you can imagine, was not easy to make, considering the major importance that Maison&Objet trade fair has for our community and therefore for you. This is especially true since the last survey - conducted from June 1st to 6th, 2020 - reveals that a majority of the brands and visitors were still inclined to participate in the September fair as long as the sanitary conditions were respected. For us, it is the sign of your commitment and your need for this event. It encouraged us to imagine alternative solutions to take this very particular situation into account.

During the last months, our digital platform MOM (Maison&Objet and More) continued to invite distributors and specifiers to discover new brands and new products. You generated historical records of connections, demonstrating the synergy between physical and digital exchanges.

As an extension of the tools that we have been developing for you for several years, we are therefore proposing new initiatives to support your restart with:

  • The launch of the Digital Fair from September 4 to 18, 2020: the opportunity to discover the collections of your usual brands or new suppliers through their Digital Showrooms on the MOM platform and, during these 2 weeks, by regularly following an original program of Digital Talks to decipher major trends and transform them into business opportunities.
  • The confirmation of Paris Design Week in the heart of the city from September 3rd to 12th, 2020 to support the commercial activities of professionals in decoration, design and fine crafts in Paris.

The next edition of Maison&Objet Paris will be held from January 22nd to 26th, 2021 and already promises to be an exceptional show to continue and accelerate the recovery of the market. We are convinced that the sector will take full advantage of new consumer behaviors: in light of the effects of the lockdown, home has become a safe haven questioning the environment and all places of living or working in every sense.

We look forward to seeing you again and suggest you to read the official announcement release where you will also find answers to some questions you may have:

With all our gratitude for your support and wishing you the best for the weeks to come.
