NATIONAL: The Event Leadership Institute and McVeigh Global Meetings and Events are teaming up for “A Candid Discussion on Employment: We Can Work it Out—Together.” The webinar, taking place July 28 at 3 p.m. ET, will see a panel of industry leaders discussing employment updates, strategies for planners and suppliers who have been displaced during the pandemic, how diversity plays a role in hiring and more. CHICAGO: The Kimpton Gray Hotel is hosting a pop-up called The Seltzer Shop. In partnership with Rose Gold Collective, the pop-up will feature over 25 flavors from seltzer brands new and old such as High Noon and White Claw. The shop is available on weekends from July 16 to Aug. 8. After being closed for 15 months, Chicago nightclub The Underground has reopened to celebrate its 15-year anniversary. Owner Billy Dec and the Underground are also launching a sister venue, The Underground Cocktail Club, inspired by the 1920s set to open over Lollapalooza weekend, July 29 to Aug. 1. LOS ANGELES: GLSEN, a leading nonprofit focused on LGBTQ youth, is hosting its annual Respect Awards Oct. 14. Executive director of GLSEN Eliza Byard will be honored for her 20 years of service and leadership. The virtual award gala will also honor numerous new celebrity co-chairs, and feature musical performances and student honorees from past awards. NEW YORK: The Other Art Fair returns this July as the first in-person Brooklyn fair since 2019. The event, held at the Brooklyn Expo Center, will feature 130 artists, a live DJ, and food and drink options.
