How members power independent media all year long

Take a look at all that you’ve done! |
At a time when the media landscape is saturated with content that purposefully blurs the lines between truth and opinion, the trust and support of KQED members help us put facts first for Northern California. |
As a KQED supporter, you help prove that public media is a force for the common good and ensure that the truth is free and accessible for all. |
2.5 million. That’s how many people KQED reaches nearly every week. Our promise to those 2,500,000 people is to continually deliver news, information and programming that prioritizes facts over noise and puts you first. |
More than 1,680,000 people come to our TV, YouTube and video-on-demand channels weekly to be inspired, informed and entertained by our meaningful programming. No matter the channel, there’s thoughtful programming for everyone at any age. |
Plus, over a million listeners tune in to listen to KQED radio and podcasts each week, enjoying programs such as Morning Edition, All Things Considered and PBS News Hour. Day after day, Northern Californians show that they want independent reporting on the most challenging topics that define our times. |
Our members help maintain programming that’s beloved by many in the Bay and give young people from your communities the opportunity to lift their voices and become the changemakers, truth-tellers and leaders our world needs. |
Your support also supports impactful educational efforts in our communities. KQED partnered with PBS LearningMedia and the National Writing Project to invite middle and high school students across the country to express their ideas for making the world a better place. Through the Call for Change Youth Media Challenge project, students selected an issue they felt a personal connection to, conducted research and wrote a script advocating for a solution. Their work resulted in audio commentaries, video content and editorial cartoons that KQED showcased on our website and app, in newsletters, on social media and through partner institutions in education and public media. |
Your support helps KQED remain a vital resource that enriches the lives of our neighbors and strengthens our communities through trustworthy programming and thoughtful storytelling. |
There’s so much I could say about how much you mean to KQED — but simply put, thank you. |
The support of people like you helps us to weather any challenges we may face and continue moving forward on a path built on trust. You make it possible for us to empower our community through trusted, quality programming that helps people reach their full potential. |
With gratitude, | | | Michael J. Isip | President & CEO | |
