Times Past Ursula College was founded as an all-female institution in 1968 by the Ursuline Oder. On this day in 1969, The Canberra Times reported a fire to another nun's habit, bringing the total of four habits destroyed in less than a month. The principal of the college, Sister Angela, put out the fire with the help of students and asked the police to investigate the matter. Sister Angela said the four habits had belonged to three different nuns living at the college. "We do feel someone is deliberately doing this but we have no idea who it might be," she said.
