DARWIN DAY The 'Oosterschelde' sets sail from Punta Arenas in Chile, currently the southernmost destination during our global voyage. Last week, we welcomed Darwin Leaders from Brazil, Uruguay, the United States, and South Korea on board for their scientific projects in Patagonia.
Today, on International Darwin Day, we celebrate Charles Darwin's birthday on the Pacific Ocean. We are sailing through the Chilean fjords heading north. Darwin's birthday is celebrated worldwide. In the Dutch city Wageningen, biologist and future Darwin200 Sailor Gert van Maanen is organizing a Darwin Café, highlighting our Darwin200 Global Voyage. Starting today, you can also access Darwin's complete archive via Darwin Online. Visit our website or get in touch with the Shipping Company to see all our sailing voyages. |
