Introducing Ayurveda

Dear Yogi,

This month we’re taking a deep dive into Ayurveda, as so many of you showed great interest in this ancient health system and its link to yoga.

So what is Ayurveda? As the name implies (Ayur = Life, and Veda = Knowledge), Ayurveda explores the science behind life itself, what it’s made of and how it works. It offers a multitude of physical and energetic tools we can use in order to live a healthy, content life.

Much like other Eastern medical systems such as Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda seeks to prevent disease, instead of merely looking to cure symptoms of illness. According to Ayurveda, health is a state of being in balance and harmony with our internal and external environment.

Read more below and try our suggested classes to maintain an harmonious state.

Stay tuned as we’ll explore more about Ayurveda in the coming weeks, with practice and nutrition tips and how to work with the Doshas.

Love,

The EkhartYoga team.
