This rings true as I know no-one who has gone back to their office full-time since that day towards the end of March when we closed the doors and set up on our kitchen tables and spare bedrooms. At that point, we had no idea when we would be allowed to come back and now, even though the Prime Minister has urged people to return, there seems little appetite for it. There are several reasons for this. Firstly, we remember how bad the traffic was during our daily commute and how stressful that was; secondly, most of us have managed just fine in the interim and thirdly, the Government’s initial Stay at Home message was so successful in frightening us all to death that we don’t want to risk catching a deadly virus. Many of us sympathise with those outlets, like coffee and sandwiches who depend on office workers for their custom, but while cases are still rising in the county, it is unlikely offices will be full of folk anytime soon.
