Empowering women in refugee and internally displaced communities has proven to have a larger, positive impact on social and economic development, as well as bridging the gender gap. Despite multidimensional challenges, there has been significant progress in social enterprises being instrumental for women navigating social, economic, and political spheres.

Empowering all women and girls is not only a moral imperative, that is also crucial to creating inclusive, open and prosperous societies. Social enterprise offers leadership opportunities for women across the globe and holds great potential as a mechanism for enabling women’s empowerment which can help maximize its impact on gender equality. The panel will discuss how government, private, public, philanthropic, and academic sectors can better champion bridging the gender equality gap.
