Join Circle of Blue, TED, PBS, and Detroit Public Television for a special climate town hall, February 13, 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. ET

Dear John —

What does climate resilience look like?
What are the impediments to action?
What is the water-climate nexus?
There's no doubt we face existential water and climate challenges.

To find the answers — and ask better questions — you're invited to join a dynamic virtual town hall on water and climate innovation — in collaboration with TED Conferences, PBS, Detroit Public Television's Great Lakes Now, and Circle of Blue.

The event features “TED Explores: A New Climate Vision,” and experts in climate solutions, water, resilience, and adaptation, and more. Circle of Blue's J. Carl Ganter will moderate.

As always, we’ll bring your voice into the conversation.

Tuesday, February 13
7:00 - 8:30 pm ET

  • Warmer temperatures and deeper droughts stress food security and political stability.
  • Moving and treating water consumes energy; generating and using energy consumes water.
  • Climate change worsens water pollution and disease.
  • People pay more attention to water than climate.

But climate change also threatens water quality, availability, and aging water infrastructure by exposing existing vulnerabilities and creating new ones. In this series, members of the Great Lakes News Collaborative explore what it may take to prepare the Great Lakes region for the future climatologists say can be expected.
