Savings and Investments Union: Contributing Towards Financial Security in Retirement
Friday, November 29 · 12 - 3:30pm CET
EBF Premises, Avenue des Arts 56, Brussels

As the EU enters a new legislative term, decisive, game-changing action is needed to harness investments for both prosperity and security. Examining best practices, regulatory barriers, and incentives is critical to laying the foundation for future-proof policy action at both the EU and Member State levels.

Under the umbrella of the European Retirement Week, this event, jointly organized by the European Banking Federation (EBF), Federation of European Securities Exchanges (FESE), and Invest Europe, will explore how to unlock the benefits of capital markets for individuals and businesses.

Our panelists will discuss key, fundamental questions such as:

      •    What are the differences and best practices in pension systems, as well as potential
           reforms?
      •    How to channel savings into direct investments for retirement, focusing on financial
education and supporting actions at the EU level?

      •    How to strengthen the role of pension funds within the EU financial ecosystem
           moving forward?

Speakers include:
Johan Bernard, Head International Public Affairs, APG
Mathieu Caron, Group Head of Primary Markets, Euronext
Jan Ceyssens, Head of Capital Markets Union Unit, DG FISMA, European Commission
Paul Gisby, Director, Accountancy Europe
Ben Granjé, CEO, Vlaamse Federatie van Beleggers (VFB)
